3) Chemical and mechanical antiseptics.

4) Antiseptics (physical, biological). Wound, cavity, and hollow organ drainage.

5) Desmurgy. Plaster casts. Transport immobilization.

6) Pain and anesthesia. Local anesthesia. Novocain blocks.

7) General anesthesia. Mask anesthesia.

8) Intubation and non-inhalation anesthesia.

9) Bleeding. Hemostasis.

10) Blood transfusion.

11) Blood transfusion complications. Blood products and components. Blood substitutes.

12) Preoperative period. Surgical operation. Postoperative period. Complications, patient care.

• Concept of patients’ medical care in surgical department. Organization of the work and sanitary-epidemiological regime of the surgical department.
• Organization and realization of medical care after surgery on abdominal organs.
• Organization and realization of medical care after surgery on thoracic organs. Organization of intensive care unit.
• Organization and realization of medical care after surgery on kidney and urinary tract.

SPRING 2 TERM OF ACADEMICAL YEAR 2024-2025

• Organization of work and structure of surgery department. Nurse’s area. Admission department. Organization of work and structure of surgical wing.
• Clinical examination of patient. Collecting analyses: urine, stool, gastric acid. Medical care before surgery. Preoperative preparation of the patient.
• Medical care after surgery on thoracic organs. Medical care after surgery on kidney and urinary tract.
• Medical care after surgery on abdominal organs. Gastric lavage, intestinal lavage. Enemas.
• Organization of work and structure of intensive care unit. Management of dead bodies. First aid. CPR.
• Final lesson.
